The town of Deltona, located on the northern shores of Lake Monroe in the county of Volusia, 26 miles north of Orlando and 22 miles from Daytona Beach on I 4, represents all that is good about a planned community.

Conceived by the legendary Mackle brothers, the town attracted worldwide attention forty years ago as an example of how to create an instant community. The engineers, town planners, and construction teams thought of everything and it was almost as though Deltona sprang up overnight out of the pristine lakefront farmland.

Features like large rock formations, trees and lakes are retained and town planners design roads and infrastructure around them. That’s why this little hamlet is so popular today.
